Welcome House is recognized as the first crisis intervention center in the country. It is staffed by sisters and lay mission partners who are also professional guidance counselors and social workers.
We conducted an outreach activity entitled GRLPWR together with our volunteers and partners from Pana. By spending an afternoon full of fun and games with them, we were able to inspire confidence back into the lives of these young girls and women.
Philippine Children’s Medical Center is one of the government-owned and controlled corporate National Centers for Specialized Health Care under the Department of Health.
We visited the pediatric cancer patients and children with chronic illnesses situated in their wards and was able to distribute food, toys, and books to over 200 kids. It was truly a precious moment to see the children smiling and laughing once again.
Alyansa ng May Kapansanan na Nagmamaneho ng Sasakyan at Motor sa Pilipinas (ALKASAMOPI) is a PWD drivers association that advocates for safe and accessible roads. They came up with the blueprint and design for the PWD-friendly tricycle.
To support their cause, we have given them over ₱105,000 which we have raised through our fundraisers like Join the Ride, Valentine’s Blend, Pay It Forward, and #PeopleWith Style.
Baby Brix is a young boy who was diagnosed with a rare disease called biliary atresia. Biliary atresia is a condition in infants in which the bile ducts outside and inside the liver are scarred and blocked. To help pay for his medical expenses, we worked with student leaders and athletes in conducting our income generating projects which includes Bae for Baby Brix and Wear a SMILE. All-in-all, we have been able to turnover roughly ₱20,000 to his mom. While he lived a short life, he bravely fought this battle and will be remembered forever.
#PeopleWith is a campaign that recognizes PWDs beyond their disabilities. Through this campaign, we hope to promote inclusion and empower PWDs by means of raising awareness, improving people’s perceptions, encouraging participatory action, and connecting PWDs with sustainable opportunities.
To achieve our goals, we have introduced multiple fundraisers and have released feature videos that showcased their personalities. More importantly, we have launched the country’s first-ever PWD-friendly tricycle in the Philippines.
As a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have launched #OperationBayanihan to assist those in most need – the marginalized and our frontliners.
In our two-and-a-half month-long journey, we have raised more than ₱650,000 worth of donations. We have helped 10,000+ individuals-at-risk across 12 cities in NCR and 18 provinces in the Philippines and have supplied our frontliners with 3,000 non-medical masks, 1,100 meals, 1,000 surgical gloves, 200 face shields, 100 PPEs, 2 aerosol boxes, and 2 swab shields.
